Many times when couples have gone through or are going through some rough spots in their relationship, small issues can surmount to big issues.  Very quickly, things can get serious.  Perhaps there is underlying tension or stress in the relationship and neither knows what to say.

Regardless of what the situation may be, you must take it easy on each other.  No one is perfect and with every person, there is always room for improvement.  In other words, don’t take every glance, comment, or gesture in a negative manner.  If your mate says something a bit out of line or makes a mistake, don’t hold on to it; let it go, take it easy.  If you make a mistake, admit it.  It is okay to poke fun at your fallacies too…no one is perfect.  When you are able to do these things, you will see that the small issues remain small and your relationship will increase.
